Basingstoke station, 30th December 2007.

Trainstations are strange.
I think it's the atmosphere in particular. It's lonely. No one truly belongs. Everyone's just moving from one place to another. No one wants to be there for any longer than they have to be.

Forty minutes was long enough for me. It was cold and dark, which was somehow made more apparent by the intensly bright but warmthless fluorescent lights.

Your description's totally true. I get that feeling in underground parking garages... the lights are an icky yellow, and you're alone, surrounded by lifeless cars. All you can hear is the clicking of your shoes and the incessant hum of machinery. You just want to get out of there and be around other people.

I love the picture, too. Seems like the station goes on forevvvveeerrrrrrr! XD
